New audio files + style guide

I have added two of the rarest finds to the audio files. One is of Kate narrating chapters 1 to 21 of “Sense And Sensibility” by Jane Austen and the other one is of her narrating the first part of “The Enchanted Wood” by Enid Blyton. I didn’t add the whole books because they are extremely rare and I want them to stay this way, but I’d also like to share a part of them with you, so here they are…

Sense And Sensibility by Jane Austen (Chapters 1-21)

Birthday Project: Part II

Status: Closed

Our very first Birthday Project to Kate was a success! People from all over the world participated and contributed with the most creative stuff you could ever imagine.
The messages will be sent as “snail mail”. I’ll gather everything together and put into a CD and send it to Kate’s fanmail address. We have high hopes that she will receive it.

I would like to thank the following people for making it so big and great:

Birthday Project

To celebrate Kate’s upcoming 32nd birthday, Kate Winslet Fan has decided to launch a Birthday Project in honor of our English Rose!

Sadly, I’ve come up with the idea pretty late and since her birthday is next week, this is what I will do: you guys have until September 30 to send me e-mails with birthday messages to Kate. Poetry, fan art, letter, photographs are all welcome. I will make a CD with your messages and have it send out by mail to Kate on October 1st. Remember to be creative! :)

What you have to do: send your message (poetry, fan art, letter, photograph, etc.) to roberta@kate-winslet.net with your name, age and country, and the subject of the e-mail has to be “Birthday Project”. Deadline: Sunday, September 30, 2007.

Edit (September 26): So far I’ve received a fair amount of stuff, but I expect a lot more, so please people, spread the word about this project. This will reach Kate and she will most likely read all your messages, so let’s make this a big deal and show her that we really mean it! You guys can send pretty much anything you’ve done inspired by Kate: poetry, letters, birthday wishes, videos, paintings, etc.

Edit (September 29): Tomorrow is the deadline. If you still want to participate, be quick! :)

Vanity Fair Italy Interview

Kate Winslet
I’m not a model

Ten years ago she reached the global success with DiCaprio (“Thank goodness we didn’t have any love affair”), the press obsession for her weight. Today Kate Winslet is happy “when my daughter squeezes my fat”.

He’s in the corridor of the Ritz Hotel in Paris, in front of the entrance of a suite. For a moment he reminds me of Will Smith, but he’s Kate Winslet bodyguard, the woman that we all remember as the redhead Rose in Titanic (one of her 5 Oscar nominations), Clementine who drove Jim Carrey crazy in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Tula, Gandolfini’s lover in Romance & Cigarettes.

Now Kate is also the new Trèsor testimonial.
“How is she?” I ask to the bodyguard, while waiting for her to arrive. “Super” he answers with a worming smile.

Tarantino has eyes for Winslet

Kate next up for Tarantino flick?

He’s renowned for his violent films but when it comes to casting, Quentin Tarantino would prefer an English rose to a famous tough guy, it seems.

The Death Proof director told Metro he would love to work with Kate Winslet but has no plans to involve Vinnie Jones in his next flick.

He also plans to show a collection of his favourite films that have inspired his work, this coming weekend on Sky Movies Indie.
