Kate Winslet Goes Viral With Sweet Video Of Star Empowering Nervous Young Journalist Conducting First Interview

Kate Winslet Goes Viral With Sweet Video Of Star Empowering Nervous Young Journalist Conducting First Interview

Such a sweet story!

Kate Winslet empowered a young journalist conducting her first interview and the video of the moment has now gone viral.

In the clip that has been viewed thousands of times on social media, the Avatar: The Way of Water star sat down for an interview with a kid that admitted she was a little anxious.

“It’s my first time,” said the interviewer.

Winslet leaned forward and said, “This is your first time doing it? OK, well, guess what. When we do this interview, it’s going to be the most amazing interview ever. And do you know why? Because we’ve decided that it is going to be.”

As the interviewer nervously laughed, Winslet continued, “So, we’ve decided right now, me and you, this is going to be a really fantastic interview. And you can ask me anything that you want and you don’t have to be scared, everything is going to be amazing.”

The young journalist agreed with the Titanic star and the actor reassured her saying, “You got this. OK, let’s do it!”

Winslet returned to work under the direction of James Cameron for the Avatar sequel. During the premiere event in London back in December 2022, Winslet noted that it was “absolutely amazing” working with him after 25 years.

“He’s so good at pulling the actors together and letting them figure it out,” she told Deadline. “If something doesn’t work, he’ll say, ‘OK, let’s do something else.’ And so, that sense of collaboration was amazing and actually, I think probably more so than I had anticipated.”

Winslet also noted that Cameron is a lot “calmer and chill” now since he’s become a parent.

Kate Winslet Recalls Being Bullied as a Child Over Her Looks, Shares Inspiring Body Image Message for Young Girls

Kate Winslet has long spoken about dealing with mean kids at school and hopes to use her experience and fame to help young girls maintain a positive body image.

The 40-year-old actress, who rose to fame with Titanic and recently starred in the film Steve Jobs, was bullied as a child over her looks, namely her weight.

“I was teased for how I looked,” Winslet told CBS Sunday Morning in an interview set to air this weekend. “In part, yeah, because I was quite stocky as a child. And was very much teased for that.”

Winslet had also talked about her experience being bullied over her looks and weight before. In a 2006 interview with Parade, she revealed her classmates called her “Blubber.” She also told Marie Claire U.K. in 2009 she was “bullied for being chubby.” Earlier this year, she recalled during an appearance on Running Wild with Bear Grylls how she confronted one of her “particularly horrible” childhood bullies as an adult.

“She was working on a beauty counter in a department store,” Winslet said. “I went up to her and said, ‘I want to thank you for being such a bitch because it made me a lot stronger.'”

Now an Oscar-winning actress who graces the covers of magazines and stuns at award shows and celebrity events, Winslet is considered by many to be a prime example of Hollywood beauty. But she doesn’t want young girls to get the wrong idea about it.

“You know, we walk down red carpets. You know, it’s part of the job,” she told CBS Sunday Morning. “But I think I feel very strongly that it’s important to also say to young girls that we don’t look like that all the time.”

Kate Winslet talks V-Day, “Titanic” in 3D

Today is Valentine’s Day, and we asked Kate Winslet if she’s doing anything to celebrate.

“I might be,” says the Academy Award-winning actress with a mysterious glint in her eye. “I might be not. That’s my answer.”

OK, OK, we understand — even if we’re still dying to know! While she’s keeping her love life a secret — can you blame her? — she happily chatted up the 3D release of Titanic, officially out on April 2 but screening in 44 cities today as part of a special Valentine’s Day preview (sorry, the free tickets have all been snapped up).

“I do feel very excited about it, because I can tell that a whole new generation is going to get to experience the film,” says the 36-year-old actress. “(My children) Mia (11 years old) and Joe (8 years old) still have not seen it. So it is very exciting that I can actually sit with them — together — and we can all watch it together in a movie theater, and that is going to be quite amazing, actually.”

What do the kids think of their famous mom’s most iconic role thus far? “They’re actually really not interested. But they are intrigued, I think, would be fair to say.” Winslet, on the other hand, is “slightly freaked out” about revisiting her 21-year-old self on screen. “I’m sure I wasn’t really a very good actress. Seriously, we are talking about something that happened 15 years ago. It is a very long time ago. I’ve learned so much, and I’ve changed as a person so much since then. It is really quite weird. Can you imagine anything stranger? It’s going to be like famous all over again, Titanic all over again!”

The 3D version of the film is “extraordinary,” says Winslet, who has only seen 17 minutes of it. “I was literally like, ‘Oh my God, make it stop! Is that me? Oh my God, that’s me. Block my ears, somebody! Somebody club out my senses. Make it (expletive) stop!'” exclaims the star, waving her hands in front of her eyes. “And Leo looks so young and so skinny!” she gushes in a baby voice. The on-screen lovers, she says, have remained “closer than ever,” but “we definitely won’t” be having any sort of Titanic reunion. “No, we’ll just sit around going, ‘Can you (expletive) believe this? Isn’t this weird?'”

It’s official: We heart Winslet.

Kate Winslet partied after surgery to complete autism charity book

Kate Winslet was so determined to complete a book to raise funds for her autism charity, she headed to a star-studded event after surgery in an attempt to meet Bill Clinton.

The actress roped in her famous pals, including Jude Law and Ben Stiller, to pose for photos wearing a “magical” headpiece for the tome in aid of the Golden Hat Foundation, which she set up to help her friend’s autistic son Keli.

Winslet’s mission came to a halt when she underwent a minor operation — but she refused to take doctors’ advice and rest up, and instead headed out to a party in a bid to land former U.S. President Clinton for her book.

She tells Ladies’ Home Journal, “You wouldn’t believe some of the things I did to get that hat to people. Like, I gatecrashed a private function to get the hat to Bill Clinton.

“It was a dinner party of about 30 people, and my friend foolishly gave me a ticket. I’d just had minor surgery and I had stitches, and I was like, ‘I don’t care, I need Bill Clinton, f**k it.’ So I hobbled in to this party in my cocktail dress, and begged. Unfortunately he was surrounded by handlers who wouldn’t let him put it on. But I needed to try. And most of the time it was fine.

“A lot of the time it was just me racing around the city to different events. Once my children and I made a road trip to watch Michael Phelps swim in Baltimore, so we could get him into the hat. I was terrified of losing it — and I was sure I’d lost it several times. See, at some point I want to auction it off to raise more money.”

The book, entitled “The Golden Hat”, is set for release in April, 2012.
