An eating disorder charity has spoken of its delight after receiving a cash donation from actress Kate Winslet.

DVD Review: Deep Sea – IMAX

When IMAX films are released on DVD you can be sure of one thing: you will lose some of the impact of the giant screen. There is simply no way for a film made with the expected result of an IMAX broadcast, to retain its impact when viewed on your 27″ living room television. So, when you lose the primary draw of the IMAX format, the film will live or die based on its content. Deep Sea has one foot in the grave. The Sense And Sensibility Diaries

Ok, so this is beyond awesome!

The lovely Steph stumbled upon a copy of “The Sense And Sensibility Screenplay & Diaries” in her university library. It’s written by Emma Thompson and includes entries from a diary she kept during the making of the film, many of which make mention of our beloved Kate. And she was kind enough to share it with us. The whole thing is fabulous, so as she was reading, she jotted down the Kate mentions. There are some very cute and funny bits here and there.

You can read it by clicking the link below or at the filmography’s Sense And Sensibility page. :)

Winslet wins damages over diet story

British actress Kate Winslet, an outspoken critic of what she sees as Hollywood’s obsession with being skinny, has won a public apology and undisclosed libel damages from a magazine that reported she visited a diet doctor.

Winslet’s lawyer, Rachel Atkins, told the High Court in London on Friday that the article in Grazia magazine was wrong.

The weekly glossy, published by Britain’s Emap Plc, had reported that Winslet discussed treatments at the Chinese Healing Institute in California.

Atkins said Winslet did receive treatment from a doctor there, but it was for a neck injury and not for weight.
