Kate Winslet poses nude for Testino exhibition

Kate Winslet has bared it all again as she posed naked in front of the camera for photographer Mario Testino’s new exhibition “Todo O Nada” in Rome.

The Titanic star, who had previously stripped off for Lancôme cosmetics campaign, admitted that she could not say no to Testino when he approached her to feature in his upcoming art show.

“You know that his biggest strength without fail is making women look beautiful. When Mario turns to you and says, ‘It’s beautiful, but I think it would work better naked, no?’ How can one refuse?” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted the actress as saying.

“No matter what insecurities about oneself a subject may have, Mario makes them go away like a magician.

“One moment you are in the hair and make-up chair fully clothed and wishing you had smoother skin, longer legs and smaller feet and then Mario comes in and, in that charming way, he takes you by the hand and says, “Don’t worry it’s going to be amazing,” she added.

Kate Winslet: “Polanski is extraordinary”

Kate Winslet says working with director Roman Polanski is “extraordinary”.

The actress stars in the film adaptation of the play God Of Carnage which is helmed by Polanski and described how the aging movie legend’s positive attitude affected the cast.

However, the 35-year-old said that the filmmaker is a tough taskmaster nonetheless.

“Roman is extraordinary. He’s 77 years old and has a joyful, effervescent quality that’s very infectious,” she told Total Film.

“None of us knew what to expect, because Carnage is based on a play, but we ended up learning the whole thing, staging it and rehearsing it like a play and then filming from the beginning to the end in ruthless order. Roman said it was the first time he’d ever filmed that way, but it was necessary for this particular piece.”

Winslet feels lucky to have worked with him and several other high-profile directors over the last year. While the famous filmmakers she were all incredibly different, they were also unique in their brilliance.

“Todd Haynes, Steve Soderbergh and Roman Polanski are all so unbelievably different, and I feel like I’ve seen this whole spectrum of creative brilliance in the past year,” she said.

“Titanic” to set sail again — in 3D

Remastered version to be released to coincide with 100th anniversary of launch of ship’s lone voyage

Titanic is sailing back into theaters around the world April 6, 2012.

James Cameron’s movie is getting re-released in 3D via Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox and Lightstorm Entertainment.

The date was chosen to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the ship setting sail (April 10).

The 3D conversion is being overseen by Cameron — who wrote, directed and produced the movie — and his Lightstorm producing partner Jon Landau, who also produced.

“There’s a whole generation that’s never seen Titanic as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen,” Cameron said. “And this will be Titanic as you’ve never seen it before, digitally remastered at 4K and painstakingly converted to 3D. With the emotional power intact and the images more powerful than ever, this will be an epic experience for fans and newcomers alike.”

Kate Winslet praises “warm” Foster

Jodie Foster is a lot “fuzzier” than people think, according to Kate Winslet.

The two stars worked together on Carnage, which is about two sets of parents who come together to talk about their kids after they have a fight. It’s due out next year and Kate says teaming up with Jodie was a joy. Part of the fun was that the two time Oscar-winner was nothing like Kate expected — she was much more open and kind.

“One would imagine her to be fiercely private. She’s not. She’s very relaxed and warm,” Kate explained to USA Today. “She’s so much fuzzier than you’d think. That sounds flippant, but she’s comfy and soft and warm and open. She’s not at all private and aloof. I can’t believe I ever imagined her that way. But I do think she’s private about the things that are important to her to be private about.”

One of the things Jodie is protective about is her family. She has sons Charles, 12, and nine-year-old Kit and has worked hard to keep them out the limelight. The star only recently allowed them to watch some of her films as she likes to keep work and home life separate.

“They never saw a movie of mine until this year,” she explained. “Now I feel like they’re ready to have some understanding of who I am. I really didn’t want them to have that experience. I didn’t want them to see me in some projected light in any way.”

Jodie’s new film is The Beaver, which she stars in and directed. Mel Gibson plays a man who communicates using a puppet, and as it was shot while he was going through personal and legal problems much has been made of his appearance.

Mel’s ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva accused him of being violent and tapes of him seemingly using racist and other offensive language were made public. Jodie maintains he is an outstanding actor and good friend, explaining they are similar in many ways.

“Look, you’ve never seen anything about Mel’s kids, either. You don’t know what they look like. That’s who he is. You try to organize your life so you’re not a reality show,” she said.
