Director hubby would love to work with Winslet

Sam Mendes is anxious to direct his wife Kate Winslet again. But can he afford her now that she’s an Oscar winner?

“I’ll definitely work with her,” Mendes, who won an Oscar himself for American Beauty, answers with a laugh.

“The only problem you run into is when you start looking for projects to do together. It never works. It’s always better when you find what you love and then find the right people for that project.”

Their last film, the lacerating Revolutionary Road, was nominated for multiple Academy Awards, but Winslet won the best actress statue for the Nazithemed The Reader.

  1. I like Sam but I hope she doesn’t work with again this soon… hopefully in 5 years or so would good. Kate needs to get back to British and independent cinema!

  2. I would love for Kate to work with Sam again. I think that he’s an extraordinary director, and seeing as Revolutionary Road was such a success it would be great for them to work on another project.

  3. I’d like to see Kate and Sam in a project together again someday, but not in the near future. Right now, there’s a lot of different directors that I’d like to see Kate work with first, such as Martin Scorsese, Pedro Almodóvar, Darren Aronofsky, Christopher Nolan, David Lynch, Gus Van Sant, Steven Spielberg, Wong Kar-wai, Woody Allen, Sofia Coppola and the list goes on.
