Winslet, DiCaprio voted most romantic onscreen couple

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet have been named the most romantic onscreen couple of all time. The survey of moviegoers saw the pair voted ahead of classic on screen pairings such as Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh from Gone With The Wind, reports the Daily Mail. Almost a quarter of all those who voted rated the romance that plays out during the final hours on the ill fated cruise liner Titanic as the best Hollywood has ever made.

The romance between Gable and Leigh in the classic 1939 film Gone With The Wind was rated the second most romantic onscreen pairing.

Richard Gere and Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman landed the third spot in the survey.

Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman from the 1942 classic Casablanca came fourth while Spencer Tracey and Katherine Hepburn were voted fifth.

More than 500,000 people were asked for their favorite film choices and characters for ABC TV and People magazine.

  1. Bogart and Bergman had this title for me until Kate and Leo created such magic in Titanic. Its the most romantic scene and best film ever. I cant wait until its re-released in 3D next year.

  2. 3D next year?? wow great….can’t wait

And yes the two ARE the best couple ever!….would like them in future films together!

  3. Unforforunatley, Elizabeth Taylor a legend like our own lovely Kate has passed away today. May she reat in peace.

  4. This is not surprising, because the “Titanic”is really a film legend. A game of Kate and Leo is a separate chapter, which simply could not go unnoticed! I still resent: why Kate has not received the Oscar for this role ???????????????????
