Kate Winslet in Talks for ‘Triple Nine’

The star-studded cast of “Triple Nine” is about to glow even brighter. Kate Winslet, Aaron Paul, Michael B. Jordan, Michael Pena, Gal Gadot and Teresa Palmer are all in talks to join the forthcoming feature from Australian director John Hillcoat (“The Road,” “Lawless”).

In preparation since summer 2013, this ambitious crime thriller has attracted some of the biggest names in Hollywood. According to Deadline.com, all six actors are negotiating the final details of their participation in “Triple Nine.”

The project is already counting on the participation of Casey Affleck and “12 Years a Slave” star Chiwetel Ejiofor. The thriller will follow a group of corrupt police officers blackmailed by the Russian mafia into carrying out a nearly impossible high-stakes heist. To create a diversion, the dirty cops decide to assassinate a fellow policeman. But their plan is derailed by a rookie officer, played by Affleck.

“Triple Nine,” which is scheduled to begin shooting this summer, will be set on the streets of Los Angeles. The film’s title is a reference to 999, the police code for “officer down” among US police forces.

Kate Winslet fears for Miley Cyrus – saying pop wild child has ”lost her way”

The Oscar-winning actress said she was thankful that she had been able to “remain sane” herself, despite rising to fame as a teenager

Kate Winslet has told of her concerns over young stars including Miley Cyrus, who appear to have “lost their way”.

The Oscar-winning actress said she was thankful that she had been able to “remain sane” herself, despite rising to fame as a teenager.

“You hear horror stories where you think, ‘God, who’s looking after these people and why does it seem like they’re losing their way?’’ she said.

“I mean, you think about someone like Miley Cyrus , and I said to my daughter the other day, ‘I’m this close to opening my mouth about what’s going on with that girl’. Who is actually saying, ‘Stop for a second, what do you want, who are you?’

“I’ve just been very lucky that I’ve always been quite comfortable with who I am. Sometimes people ask, ‘What do you wish for your children?’ and all I say is, ‘I want them to be happy being them’.”

Kate, 38, said she was thankful her fame came before the rise of social media, which has made it much harder for the next generation.

“It’s really rough now. I think, for young actors, actresses and pop stars, it’s a nightmare. They can’t do anything. I’m so not going near that whole world – I don’t need it. I do feel incredibly lucky.”

But the mum-of-three confessed that she was frightened by the impact of the internet on her kids, Mia, 13, Joe, 10, and newborn baby Bear.

“We live in a world where we have to be aware of all this stuff, unfortunately. And it’s feeding this young generation in a way that’s beyond terrifying, so normal friendships aren’t even normal friendships any more because, half the time, they seem to be forging relationships with people they’ve never met.”

The actress, who married Richard Branson’s nephew Ned Rocknroll a year ago, said they enjoyed an entirely normal life at their home in West Sussex.

“People say to me, ‘You cook?’ and I’m like, ‘Who else is going to f****** cook?’ It’s funny, this notion that when you become a famous person, you stop doing normal things. Maybe some people do, but I think I’d be so unhappy if I didn’t do it.”

She said that third husband Ned was a fantastic partner and father.

“Ned is absolutely incredible and he looks after us all. In fact, the other day Joe asked, ‘How come there are no other dads on the school run?’ And we both went, ‘It’s because this is the way we’re doing it.’ The kids really love that.”

Winslet also revealed that she imagined a “life on the breadline” after deciding to become an actress. The Titanic star admitted in Psychologies magazine: “I saw a life on the breadline, trotting around London, hopefully going for lots of auditions.

“I grew up in a family of people who would have a party if someone even had an audition, so when I was that girl running around town with my bag and my script pages, it was amazing. That was the life I imagined.

“It’s the reason I think I’ve been able to remain sane.”

Kate, who won her Academy Award for The Reader, said she wants look good but draws the line at surgery or botox.

“It’s my face. I just wouldn’t want to do that to myself. I care about myself and there are other ways of caring about one’s appearance that don’t involve injections and being carved up.”

She also felt that it would ruin her ability to act. “I think I’d feel a bit dishonest if I was making my face do less. I don’t know how I’d be able to do my job.”

Leonardo DiCaprio remains in ‘love’ with Kate Winslet

Leo DiCaprio’s The Wolf of Wall Street, which opened on Dec. 25 and has grossed about $34 million to date, has divided critics. Is it a ludicrously funny romp about greed and decadence, or does it glorify the very abysmal things it depicts?

You be the judge.

However, DiCaprio, ever the perfectionist, really did spend time on Wall Street, on trading floors, observing the type of people who populate the film.

“I wasn’t incognito. I couldn’t be. I was there, walking around,” he told us, admitting that he’s too tall and too famous to really be undercover.

So did he meet real-life Jordan Belforts, guys for whom money is everything? Sure. But, says DiCaprio, “There’s a lot of guys that are doing a lot of great stuff and are responsible.”

We did have to tell DiCaprio that even though he’s mighty impressive as Belfort, we kept thinking of him as his pal Kate Winslet has described him in interviews: “farty Leo.” That elicited deep belly laughs from DiCaprio, who co-starred with Winslet in Titanic.

“She never says that to my face. She’s the greatest person. She’s so genuine. I love that girl. She has a brand-new baby and is in love,” he says of Winslet, who just gave birth to her third child, son Bear.

Jason Reitman Praises Kate Winslet

Jason Reitman has praised Kate Winslet as ”one of the greatest actresses living today” and he’s glad he waited until she was ready to film ‘Labor Day’.

Jason Reitman has praised Kate Winslet as ”one of the greatest actresses living today”.
The ‘Labor Day’ director decided to wait until the Oscar-winning British actress was ready to make their new drama rather than re-cast the part when Winslet decided she wanted a break from Hollywood.

Instead, the director shot ‘Young Adult’, which earned star Charlize Theron an Oscar nomination, while co-star Josh Brolin filmed ‘Men in Black 3’.

Reitman recalled: ”Kate Winslet is one of the greatest actresses living today, and that there will ever be. If I’ve got a script that Kate Winslet is willing to say yes to, I will wait a year, I will wait five years.
”If Kate had said, ‘Fuck this s**t’, I would have found someone else. But, for the rest of my life, I get to say I directed Kate Winslet. It’s huge.”

The drama features a salacious kitchen-based sex scene and Reitman has likened it to the infamous scene between Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in ‘Ghost’.

He told Empire magazine: ”I think it’s the dirtiest sex scene I’ll ever shoot. People have been comparing it to the ‘Ghost’ ceramics scene and I like that comparison because that scene was an inch away from being ridiculous but works. I think that’s what we’ve achieved here.”
